Meet Our Owner, Jaylon

A fifth generation rootworker and conjure man. Jaylon has dedicated his life to eradicating the stereotypes and lies surrounding Hoodoo within his community. Whether it be by educating those curious or calling out the lies regurgitated by those who oppose of the way. Although he specializes in Delta Hoodoo in accordance to his proximity to Mississippi as a Memphis native, because of his families origins including the Saint Bernard Parish in New Orleans, The Gulf Coast of Mississippi, and the coastal low country state of South Carolina, he is well versed in many forms of hoodoo and black spirituality. In his early childhood, Jaylon was prophesied to be a highly spiritual person due to his natural and easily controlled spiritual gifts. The old folks say he was “born with a veil” signifying he was born deeply spiritual. Today, he uses those spiritual gifts to help others and direct them along their paths. He comes from a long line of both Creole and Gullah Geechee practitioners including his 5th great grandmother who was a wanted woman in the city of New Orleans due to her use of ancient ancestral knowledge. Embracing that fiery energy of his 5x Great Grandmother and his other beloved ancestors, Jaylon vowed to uphold the light of hoodoo regardless to what others may think of it.
